Welcome to Crime Watch 1153. We are located in northeast Dallas near Casa Linda, Casa View, and the Arboretum at White Rock Lake.

Garden Tour plants have been stolen from both Cloister and Mercer address locations. If you see suspicious activity at these locations and especially early morning then call 9-1-1.

Beware of scams from door to door salesmen who want to spray paint your roof, siding, or driveway to fix whatever is wrong with it. They normally want you to pay up front and then never do the job. If you didn't solicit a respectable company then turn these people down. Call 9-1-1 if you feel this is a scam! Also, be watching for a middle aged WM with ditry blond hair targeting certain houses at all hours of the night begging or soliciting money for a sick relative. Call 9-1-1 if this guy bothers you!

Lost Pets Forum has a new report of a lost dog near our neighborhood. Please check it out if you have come across a stray pet or need info on a possible found pet. The link is above. There is a new look and layout, so we are learning those as well, but no more pop ups!
VIP stickers are available for your use to mark your car from those who are visiting the neighborhood and help the VIP volunteer patrols in being able to ID suspicious activity during the day in driveways of homes of those who are at work & school. They go in the middle upper rear window area of the vehicle. They are free - just email or attend a meeting and ask.
V.I.P. is scheduling will be in July 18th, 2009, a Saturday class only, at 1500 Marilla at City Hall Basement. More information here with release forms.
You are encouraged to volunteer and voice your ideas at the neighborhood meetings. Also, hear about the latest activities and events in the neighborhood. If you missed a meeting you can get the minutes and find out what is going on in our northeast Dallas enclave.

The Dallas Police have a YouTube video site. Maybe you can ID a bad guy or help solve a crime.
We are always looking for V.I.P. volunteers to help patrol the neighborhood. This is a non-confrontational car patrol with a partner. All you do is observe and if you see any suspicious activity call 9-1-1 immediately. This does require an application and a few hours of training by the Dallas Police Dept. Some have patrolled on foot and by bicycle. Email us for more information. If you are interested you can get your application forms here.

Home chemical collection is not a part of bulk trash. Paints, pool supplies, batteries, oils & filters, and other home repair & cleaning products may be brought to the collection site at 11234 Plano Rd in Dallas. Bring a drivers license as proof of residency. Call 214 533-1765 for complete information and times as well as other collection sites.
Dates to remember: Saturday on August 1st Pool Party at Sunny's from about 2 to 6 PM & details TBA; Saturday on September 26th @ 6 PM annual Ice Cream social & meeting at Kristin's house; Saturday on October 31st is the Hallowe'en Spooktacular at Jones Park from 2 to 5 PM (great way to start your Hallowe'en evening activities).
